The teaching staff has a major body of work (e.g. concert performances, recording sessions, compositions, arrangements), academic achievements (e.g. academic conferences, concerts, festivals, exhibitions).

The chronicle:

The institutional precursors of the Music Institute are:

  • The Unit of Music Education (1971)

  • The Institute of Music Education (1983)

  • The Institute of Culture and Music Art (2001)

Persuant to the resolution no. 354 by the Senate of the University of Zielona Góra of 24th 2010 the unit was given a new name – the Institute of Music.

The Unit of Music Education together with three other units used to form the Department of Pedagogy – in accordance with the order of the Minister of Education and Higher Education of 23rd August 1971 confirming the structure of the former university – the Higher School of Teaching two years later was transformed into the Higher School of Pedagogy. In reference to a deep need of integrating the artists of Zielona Góra, the Artistic Department was formed in Autumn 1999 . Two years later the Institute of Music Education was renamed to the Institute of Culture and Music Art. The University of Zielona Góra, set up on the 1st October 2001, saved the structural enshrinement of the Institute within the Artistic Department.
